Storage Stability of PMB

Method for measuring the storage stability of modified bitumens at elevated temperatures. An homogeneous sample of PMB is kept in a vertical container at a temperature of 180°C, or at a prescribed temperature, for three days. After the sample has cooled, it is divided into three equal parts. The upper and lower portions are then analyzed to assess their possible differences.

If the chosen temperature differs from 180°C, this must be mentioned in the test report.

The thin aluminum tube is unvarnished, with a minimum height of 160 mm and Ø between 25 and 40 mm, with one end closed, as indicated in the standard.
