Needle penetration | Semi-automatic

The test consists of determining the consistency of bitumens and bituminous binders. This method consists of defining the vertical penetration depth of a reference needle in a test sample of the material, in tenths of a millimeter, under precise conditions of temperature, load and duration of application of the load.

The method requires the use of a needle penetrometer, the mobile load of which is 100 g.

(Needle holder: 47.5 g, needle: 2.5 g, additional mass: 50 g).
