Methylene Blue Test | Complete Kit

The methylene blue test is used to measure the amount of clay particles present in the fine fraction of aggregates intended for bituminous mixtures.
It involves gradually adding a colored methylene blue solution to a suspension of the aggregate until saturation; the amount of dye adsorbed indicates the clay content.
A high value reflects a significant presence of clay, which can lead to poor adhesion between the aggregates and the bituminous binder, potentially affecting the durability of the asphalt.
