Loaded Wheel Track Tester

Test method for measurement of excess asphalt in bituminous mixtures by use of a Loaded wheel Tester and sand adhesion.

The loaded wheel test is intended to compact fine aggregate bituminous mixtures such as slurry seal by means of a loaded, rubber tired reciprocating wheel. The test may be used for design purposes to etablish maximum limits for asphalt content to avoid severe asphalt flushing under heavy traffic loads.
