At low temperatures, elastic materials are less resistent and can even break. When it comes to roads, microcracks can appear, openning the door for further degradation ⚠️
Thankfully, test standards like the Fraass point and the Bending Beam Rheometer (BBR) can be used to assess the low-temperature properties of road binders.
